Well, the pussy is out of the bag, I guess! I’ve been dying
to talk about this for months now! Gravest Gravy really IS a thing! And you’ll
all be listening to it soon enough! The TV Set video is just the tip of the iceberg! I’ve been writing a review of the full album
that I will post down the road when we get closer to the August release date.
But here is a portion of it, because this can’t be stated ENOUGH!
First thing’s first;
you’ve NEVER heard what’s in these grooves. Ever. You don’t have a bootleg LP
of it; your cool uncle doesn’t have it on a tape in the back of his closet
somewhere; you’ve never heard it at a hip DJ’s birthday party in Bushwick that
one time; you didn’t download it from some blog in the late 90’s: This is the
real deal Jack and Jill’s. It’s an honest to badness album full of songs you’ve
never heard by The Cramps! Well, to be more specific, recordings you’ve never
heard before, and a few never recorded with this line up in a studio. Got it? Get with it! “Ancient Knowledge!
Believed Lost To The World!! Can now be YOURS!”
So, if that isn’t apparent enough, Gravest Gravy has NEVER
been released in any form whatsoever. PERIOD. Making it one of the most
significant releases, in my mind, in MANY years.
